The more and more I reflect on travels and life, especially these past 4 months, the more self aware I have become.

When I first started, I had this idea of branding myself as this adventurous traveller, who was going to make these blogs and vlogs to help educate the travel community more on things to do, places to go, things to eat, etc. But the more I started seeing how poorly the travel audience received these, I needed to change my strategy and start doing something that came more natural to me.

To be honest guys, I am poor writer and I know it. I haven’t master Adobe Premiere and storytelling through video format. My podcast, although fun and I still want to explore it more, wasn’t that entertaining. I was making these things to make the audience that I have happy (and I fucking love you guys). But I learned quickly, that my Youtube videos were never going to go viral. My blog posts were somewhat boring. My podcast was just me “checking in” to family and friends.

BUT, there was a small shift in my thinking as I started to realize that my content wasn’t catching on. I started making content that made me happy. Something that I could look back in 1, 10, 30, 50 years and say,

“Holy shit! I can’t believe I road a motorcycle through Vietnam.
I can’t believe I jump off an 11m cliff into a beautiful lake!”

This documentation of travels started to change from trying to gain and audience to making myself happy with the stuff I am putting out. As soon as I started doing this, and honestly, it’s only been about 1 week that I fully dove into it, I have seen a much better response to what my content. And this is because I became aware that, like a said in the previous blog… no one really cares. But I DO! I care a lot. And I want to share with you. And guess what… so do YOU.

You want your friends, your family, strangers in Instagram and Twitter and Facebook to care about what you are doing. But until you care the most about what you are doing, what you are trying to achieve, and TRULY care, no BULLSHIT, that’s when people engage more. They can relate more.

Take a moment today, tomorrow, right now, to ask yourself…

What I am really good at?

What do I really love to do or say, regardless of who is watching or listening?

Don’t do something like work a bullshit job or never leave home because you know it will make your parents happy. Don’t suffer dreading what you do everyday because you think this is what you are SUPPOSED to be good at, OR this is what people expect of you.

Do something that you love to do everyday, and turn off the voices in your head that say,

Don’t do it!

It’s too big of a risk!

It’s not safe!

Will Smith recently quoted this in one of his videos,

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”

Fear is good. Take risks. Take chances and go get what you really want! People are going to talk regardless. Go fucking get it!
